by Andy Simms

One of the UK’s leading oil blenders has launched a new oil capable of meeting the demands of vane pumps in biogas digestion plants.

Morris Lubricants has produced GEO VPO, a sliding vane gas compressor oil. It has been specifically developed for continuous anaerobic digester gas mixing systems utilising oil lubricated, sliding vane gas compressors.

The oil has been formulated from high quality Group II base oils and a combination of ashless additives that provide excellent oxidation stability, protection against rust and corrosion, low foaming and excellent demulsibility.

The product is compatible with all bronze, silver and steel system parts and complements Morris Lubricants’ latest GEO Ultra gas engine oil range.

Simon Matthews, Technical Services Manager at Morris Lubricants, said: “We are proud to be bringing GEO VPO to market.

“The key aspect of this oil is the inclusion of specially selected base oils and additives, which ensure continuous protection against oxidation from by-products. This ensures optimised vane life.”

GEO VPO has a flash point (closed) of 215 ºC and a proven oxidation life of more than 10,000 hours.

Morris Lubricants is a British company that has been manufacturing lubricants in Shrewsbury since 1869. Over 140 years of development has seen the company grow to become one of Europe's leading oil blenders and marketers, with a reputation for quality and service.
