Jenkins geared up for the Thruxton Challange

“We travel geared up for the next challenge,” said Dave Jenkins as he and the rest of the Jenkins Motorsport Team get ready for the third round of the British Truck Racing Championship being held at Thruxton on June 1 and 2.

Sponsored this season by Digraph Transport Supplies and Shrewsbury-based Morris Lubricants, the Jenkins team has changed to an all-black livery, which has led to their vehicle being dubbed “the MAN in black” and it’s a firm favourite of the racing fans.

Jenkins, who won the drivers’ championship in 2011 and was runner up last season, is currently sitting in third spot seven points behind current champion Mat Summerfield and four behind Steve Thomas.

The Jenkins Motosport team is still looking for its first race victory of this season but is hopeful of putting that right this weekend.

Jenkins said: “We ran well at Brands Hatch and have continued to work on the set up of the truck to have it in top condition for Thruxton. There’s no doubt the competition is tougher this season, with a lot of close contact, but that makes for more exciting viewing for the fans.

“I’m hoping for that little bit of luck that you need to secure a first win of the season this weekend.”

James Jenkins, principal of the Jenkins Motorsport, said: “The team and the truck have been performing really well. We’ve continued to make minor adjustments that we hope will give us a little extra performance.”

For the 2013 Delphi British Truck Racing Championship season the Jenkins Motorsport team is also supported by ATE Truck and Trailer Sales, Alcoa Wheels and Tyre Tracks and MAN.
