Tom Cave thrilled at prospect of Cholmondeley appearance

Welsh rally driver Tom Cave is thrilled at the prospect of appearing at this year's Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, representing both the MSA British Rally Championship and Wales Rally of Great Britain. The 21 year-old, who is currently lying second in the 2013 BRC, will be taking his Morris Lubricants DMS team Citroen DS3 R3 rally car to the event next week, alongside a host of iconic and modern machinery from the sport.

As part of a raft of innovations and initiatives for this year's Wales Rally GB, the UK round of the FIA World Rally Championship and the season finale in November, the organisers have formed a partnership with the Pageant of Power. As such, drivers from the WRC and the British Rally Championship will be at the Pageant to help showcase the season finale.

Tom was invited to form part of the launch event for this year's Wales Rally GB two weeks ago and is now delighted and thrilled to be asked again to represent Wales Rally GB at one of the summer's most prestigious and exciting events.

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power brings together the very best of speed and performance on land, on water and in the air. As such, it hosts a huge variety of cars and bikes running on the hillclimb course, as well as off-road demonstrations. It also includes displays of water-borne machinery and a variety of aircraft, giving visitors a full display over the three days of the event, which begins on Friday 14 June.

However, even ahead of the event, there will be plenty going on, as Tom has been invited to attend Media City in Salford, for a series of interviews with his Morris Lubricants-supported Citroen, which he used to claim the runners-up spot in last year's BRC.

Tom will then travel to the event, where he will demonstrate his car as well as talk to fans in the Rally Village. He will be in exceptional company, with Colin McRae's 1996 Subaru Impreza and 1999 Safari-winning Ford Focus on display. The Proton Motorsports team will also have a Satria Neo S2000 present, similar to the one Tom drove to victory on last year's Thailand International Rally and to second in S-WRC on Wales Rally GB.

Commenting, Tom said; "I am thrilled to have been asked to help support Wales Rally of Great Britain at this year's Cholmondeley Pageant of Power. I haven't been to the event before but have heard a lot of very good things about it and I can't wait to be involved.

"It sounds as if the Pageant is a unique event; bringing together speed and performance on land, on water and in the air is a fantastic concept and I an genuinely excited about being there this year.

"It also sounds as if the Rally Village will be a dream for any rally fan. Now that I've seen what will be there, if I hadn't been invited to support the BRC and WRGB, I'd be going as a paying visitor - it looks like it will be an amazing weekend."
