Members of the Potteries and South Cheshire MG Owners Club were given an insight into how high quality car oils are manufactured when they paid a visit to Morris Lubricants in Shrewsbury. The club was invited by Britain’s leading family-owned, independent oil blenders and marketers to take a guided tour of the Castle Foregate works where members saw all the different processes that go in to the production of lubricants for a wide range of end users. Club secretary Bob Nason, who was paying a second visit to the works, said members had enjoyed the informative tour, which he described as a learning experience.
“Every time we come, we pick up something new from the tour,” he added. “It’s fantastic to see all the processes involved in the production of lubricants that we use in our cars and our members love these tours.
“It’s obvious that Morris Lubricants, as a family run business, still has the customer’s interests at heart.”
The thriving club, which is 21 years old, has 150 members who own cars ranging from a 1939 MG TC to a modern MG6. There are more than 40,000 in the worldwide MG Owners Club.
Adrian Hill, Morris Lubricants’ product and marketing manager, said the company was keen to develop links with more motor clubs and enthusiasts across the UK.
”We enjoy spending quality time with enthusiasts within this market as they give important feedback on what the company is doing to accommodate their needs,” he added. “These tours also give the company an opportunity to demonstrate some of the expertise that goes into formulating and manufacturing our range of quality products.”
